About us

The Decolonising the Medical Curriculum initiative was started by the Department of Clinical and Professional Practice (CPP) at University College London Medical School by Dr Amali Lokugamage, Dr Faye Gishen and medical student Hope Chow. This followed on from our previous project, Liberating the Curriculum.

To integrate the history and art aspects of the project, we collaborated with Sam Wilkinson (UCL Public Art Manager), Frank Penter (UCL Culture, Director of Operations), Dr Lindsay Porter (Independent Cultural Historian) and performance artist Monster Chetwynd.

The current team comprises of Dr Lokugamage, Dr Gishen, and medical students Sarah Wong, Tina Plowman, Ife Nwibe and Davina Puri.
